Erasing your DWI Record
Expunction
Even after a dismissal of your DWI, your criminal history will still indicate that you were arrested. An expunction is the procedure to remove this part of the record. After the statute of limitations has expired, expunctions are usually not contested by law enforcement agencies. The most important thing is to make sure that your DWI is handled properly so that you are eligible to expunge your record. We recommend contacting a Board Certified Criminal Specialist to make sure the job is done properly.
Order of Non-Disclosure
If your DWI is dismissed pursuant to a reduction to a lesser offense, and you end up serving probation on that lesser offense, many times that can be sealed. Assuming that you get deferred adjudication probation on the lesser offense, in addition to an expunction of the DWI arrest, you can seal the probation with an order of non-disclosure
