A dismissal is an outstanding result in a criminal case that allows the defendant to expunge or erase the record of the arrest (see our section on erasing your DWI record for more information about expunctions and orders of non-disclosure). This section lists some of the dismissals that we have obtained for our clients in the past. The circumstances of each dismissal is case-specific and is noted for each case. For example, some cases were unconditionally dismissed (expressed as: no fine or cc), while others were dismissed pursuant to an agreement whereby our client plead to probation on a lesser offense or completed some other case-specific obligation, such as counseling, pretrial diversion or deferred prosecution. The three most common reduced offenses for DWI cases are Obstruction of a Passageway, Reckless Driving, and a class C traffic violation.
All listed cases are from Travis County, Texas unless otherwise specified. This is not our complete dismissal record, as other cases, not listed here, were expunged and are not available for public dissemination. For each dismissed case, we specify the type of offense, the date of offense, the date of the dismissal, the cause number, and particular details of the disposition.
If you have any questions about our past results, or if you would like a more detailed explanation, please call us at 512-474-8001.
